The festival of Holi is celebrated for two days, on first day of Holi, Holika Dahan is observed and second day is Dhulandi, the day on which everyone plays withcolour. On first day people do bonfire, move around it, and perform dances and singing. We do it because as per the mythological story, a Great devotee of Lord Vishnu- Prahlada (son of a whiz king Hanyakashipu who thought that he was above everything and was the great Lord). He punished his son for worshipping Lord Vishnu and forced him to sit on fire along with his sister Holika who was blessed that no fire could burn her.
